Sails Up 4 Cancer

June 18, 2016

I loved doing the Sails Up 4 Cancer event in Mystic, CT this year.  I had to just put my mind in a different place, and not think about what these children and their families were going through. So much energy and fun!  They had gone for a trip on sailboats earlier, and then came to have lunch and listen to music.  This is where I was set up.  I worked alongside my best friend, April Brunelle, of April's Balloon Creations.  I didn't get pictures of everybody, but they all seemed to have a blast!

The most memorable moment was when a woman sat in my chair, and said she was very happy to just have fun with her son after the stressful things she'd been going through. Her son had cancer, and she had just recently lost her little baby.  I couldn't believe the composure she had.  She and her son had a great time that day, and they each got their faces painted.  Never, ever take life for granted.

Long Time, No Blog

Its been quite a while since my last post.  For the most up to date postings regarding my face painting, go to my Facebook page,  Since my last post, I have worked the Mystic Pirate Invasion, the Grand Opening of the Wide World of Indoor Sports, and a New Year's Eve party at Dave & Buster's.  I plan to network a lot more this year, so that I can keep working more and more.

My practicing has increased, and so has my skill.  Practice is a MUST.

I also purchased an amazing case for my paints and supplies.  It's called a Craft N Go, and I get so many compliments.  It is perfect for me, and looks very professional.  I also received two airbrush guns from a friend, and have utilized them in tandem with my face painting.  Sometimes an airbrush tattoo on the arm is easier and more desirable for some.

Looking forward to an exciting 2016!

It's been a while since my last posting, but I've been busy, busy, busy! I just came off of doing the Mystic Eats Festival in Mystic, CT.  That was Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th.  Amazing experience! I love this job! Kids and parents were wonderful.  I received so many compliments on my artistry and my professionalism, which was very flattering, indeed.  I am very much looking forward to working the Pirate Festival on October 4th.  Some and see me then, definitely!  I have almost finished posting all photos from Mystic Eats, and will finsh those up very soon.

Also, an amazing new development in my business, is that I have been given two airbrush machines, so I can add airbrushing and airbrush tattoos to my repretoire!!! Something new and exciting to add to any event! They plug in, so as long as I am near an outlet, I will be able to utilize these machines.

My second time out was another fun-filled afternoon.  The kids were great, and so were the parents.  This time I had business cards to give out, and there were people that took them for future reference.  One parent even said she would contact myself and my friend April, from April's Balloon Creations, to possibly hire us for her daughter's birthday party!  That would be exciting!

I have now subscribed to a face painting channel online, fabatv, and I can't wait to start learning even more while watching these tutorials from some amazing professionals!

My First Professional Outing

Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 was my first professional face painting outing, and I loved every second!!! :D See my gallery for all the pictures. I was so nervous at first, but went with the flow and had a lot of fun.  I was blessed with great kids that weren't too squirmy wormy, and parents that had patience. I am excited and can't wait for more! With lots of practice and hard work, it is only going to get better.

My daughter was in charge of getting the model release forms signed, and I couldn't be happier with her work. She did such a great job!  She also closed my line for me! Granted, it was not busy, but she did let someone know that I was already working on the last customer of the day, and I was so proud. She even wants to come and help me again. That was a wonderful surprise.
